Michelin-starred chef Laurent Tourondel provides the ultimate fine dinning expereice in Northern Liberties

Terra Grill delivered an exceptional dining experience from start to finish. We began with the Caesar salad and the short rib steamed buns. The Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, with baked Parmesan crisps adding the perfect crunch and making it an excellent appetizer to share. The standout starter, however, was the short rib steamed buns. Even as someone who typically avoids cilantro, I was impressed by how every ingredient worked together to create a balanced, unique flavor that showcased the chef’s attention to detail.

The stuffed crab cake was equally impressive. Beautifully presented, it had a rich yet delicate flavor and a light texture that made it one of the evening’s highlights. For our entrées, we enjoyed the prime strip steak with peppercorn sauce and tomato béarnaise, accompanied by potato puff dauphines. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and its generous size justified the price. The crispy, airy potato puff dauphines provided the ideal contrast to the richness of the steak. The grilled five-spice Long Island duck breast was another standout—tender, incredibly flavorful, and completely free of the gamey taste that often accompanies duck.

Dessert featured the chocolate ganache Guanaja with pistachio ice cream and hazelnuts. The creamy pistachio ice cream balanced the richness of the chocolate, while the hazelnuts added a satisfying crunch.

The wine program deserves special recognition. I chose the 2020 Jordan Cabernet, whose aromas of dark cherry, followed by notes of smoky tobacco on the finish, paired beautifully with every course. Terra Grill combines outstanding food, thoughtful wine selections, and refined execution, making it a restaurant I would confidently recommend and look forward to visiting again.
