Imhotep Charter Rolls Past Parkland, Advances in State Playoffs

Philadelphia’s Imhotep Charter continued its reign of dominance in Pennsylvania high school basketball with a commanding 48-30 victory over Parkland (Allentown, PA) in Saturday’s neutral-site playoff game. The Panthers, led by longtime head coach Andre Noble, are now one step closer to claiming their 11th PIAA state championship—and their first at the 6A level.

Coming into the game, Imhotep was already known for its suffocating defense, allowing just 47.1 points per game. Against Parkland, they raised the bar even higher, holding their opponent to just 30 points. Their aggressive full-court pressure and disciplined half-court defense stifled any offensive rhythm Parkland hoped to establish.

On the offensive end, Imhotep controlled the tempo and executed efficiently, getting key contributions from its talented roster. Senior guard Malik Johnson led the way with 15 points, setting the tone for the Panthers’ offensive attack. While the final scoreline was not their highest-scoring effort, it was a testament to their ability to dictate games on both ends of the floor.

This latest victory moves Imhotep closer to yet another historic milestone. The Panthers have already secured six consecutive PIAA boys basketball championships, solidifying their status as the premier program in the state. A win in this year’s tournament would mark their 11th title overall, further cementing their legacy as Pennsylvania’s high school basketball powerhouse.

Coach Andre Noble has been at the helm of this dynasty, developing not just elite basketball talent but also a culture of excellence. His program has consistently produced Division I talent and professional-level players, while also instilling the discipline and teamwork necessary for long-term success.

With each passing game, Imhotep continues to prove why it is the team to beat. Their combination of championship experience, defensive dominance, and a battle-tested coaching staff makes them a formidable force as they push for history.

Can the Panthers add a 6A championship to their already decorated resume? If Saturday’s performance is any indication, the rest of the field has a daunting challenge ahead.
