Imhotep Boys and E&S Girls Dominate 2025 Public League Indoor Track & Field Championships

The 2025 Public League Indoor Track & Field Championships took center stage at the University of Pennsylvania’s Ott Center on February 9th, with Imhotep running away with the boys’ title and Engineering & Science (E&S) claiming the girls’ championship.

E&S Girls Shine with 118-Point Performance

The E&S girls put together a commanding performance, scoring 118 points to capture the Public League Indoor Championship. Leading the charge was Payton Drumwright, who secured 1st place in the 400m and a runner-up finish in the 200m. She was joined in the sprint events by Madison Jackson, who placed 6th in the 200m.

Rayana Massey contributed across multiple events, finishing 3rd in the 800m and 4th in the 60m hurdles. In the hurdles, she was supported by Jalynn Cage and Ciana Brown, who finished 2nd, 3rd, and 4th in the event.

The high jump was another dominant event for E&S, with the team taking three of the top four spots. In the long jump, Cage finished 2nd, while Brown placed 4th. Nia Pettigrew claimed victory in the triple jump, with Cage finishing right behind in 2nd place.

In the distance events, Central High School dominated, accounting for 80% of the 94 points scored in the longer races. Meanwhile, Simon Gratz’s Anaiya Holly proved unstoppable in the short sprints, winning the 60m in 7.59 seconds and the 200m in 24.73 seconds.

Daijah Lopez of Academy at Palumbo was another standout, winning the 60m hurdles in 9.38 seconds and finishing 3rd in the 200m (25.89 seconds). She also anchored Palumbo’s 4×200 and 4×400 relays, leading both teams to victory.

Imhotep Boys Run Away with the Championship

On the boys’ side, Imhotep Charter dominated the track en route to securing the championship title.

Jamair Bull placed 6th in the 60m and 5th in the 200m.

Chase Temple and Brian Culmer went 1-2 in the 400m, showcasing Imhotep’s depth in the mid-distance events.

Nasir Gordon took 1st in the 800m, with teammate Jahmire Cunningham placing 3rd.

Tajmir Lewis-Norris finished 3rd in the Mile, while Nasir Foster placed 2nd in the 60m hurdles.


Imhotep dominated the relay events, winning the 4×200 in a blazing 1:29.42, with Overbrook chasing close behind in 1:30.95. They also claimed victory in the 4×400 and 4×800 relays, securing valuable points for their championship push.

In the field events, Imhotep’s Nicholas Williams (2nd place) and Jesse Moody (4th place) both surpassed 42 feet in the shot put. Naeem Turner added 6 points to the team’s total by finishing 6th in the long jump.

One of the meet’s biggest individual performances came from Shaun McCoullum of George Washington, who clocked 21.75 seconds to win the 200m.
