Urgent 365: 7th Annual Trunk Party recap

By Staff

In honor of Small Black-Owned Business Month, we want to shine a spotlight on URGENT365, a nonprofit organization making a significant impact on the lives of high school graduates. Recently, URGENT365 hosted its 7th Annual Trunk Party, providing 12 deserving students with the essential items they need to transition to college successfully. These young individuals, who have faced various challenges, received vital supplies such as laptops, pillows, and personalized matching room décor, ensuring they start their college journey on the right foot.

This year, URGENT365 raised over $9,000, which allowed them to go above and beyond in supporting these students. The event also featured raffles, where microwaves and other prizes were given away, further empowering the students as they prepare for this new chapter in their lives.

In addition to providing tangible support, the Trunk Party included two breakout sessions—one for students and one for parents. These panels offered guidance and inspiration from past participants who shared their experiences, providing valuable insights for both students and their families as they embark on this new journey.

Notable colleges mentioned at the event included Morgan State University, Howard University, Spelman College, West Chester University and more, reflecting the bright futures that lie ahead for these students.

As we celebrate Small Black-Owned Business Month, it’s important to recognize the incredible work URGENT365 is doing to uplift and empower the next generation. Their dedication to supporting these students goes beyond just providing essentials—it’s about ensuring they have the confidence and resources they need to succeed in college and beyond.
