PHILADELPHIA, PA– Today, we are hurt by news of the passing of our President and Co-Founder Sean Crump.

His impact on and love for the Uptown community will be truly missed. We will continue to honor him as his legacy will continue to live throughout the pages of the Uptown Standard. If it wasn’t for Sean’s hard work, effort, and commitment to the Uptown Standard we would not be where we are at now. He was the catalyst to our quick success. Rest Well Sean Crump!!

This has prompted us to rename the People’s Choice Award which will be presented at the Uppity Awards. From this point forward the award will be named the Sean Crump People Choice Award.

In addition, proceeds for this year’s Uppity Awards will be presented to Sean’s family to assist with his final expenses.

Please keep Sean’s family in your prayers.
